Returnee’s Life Report

Chapter 56

It would have been quiet for a year.

However, because of my actions, so many things have happened.

Meanwhile, some of the ROKHA team members didn’t like my proposal of clearing the SS-rated gate in the UK. I didn’t intend to make it compulsory; I would just bring the people who wanted to volunteer.

While I was in my private office with Gi-Hoon, Ee-Na suddenly came in.

“I’ve been thinking about the PMC you mentioned.”

Jeong Gi-Hoon brought in coffee for Ee-Na and me before stepping back behind my chair.

Ee-Na stared at me for a while and asked, “Do you need me?”

That was similar to what Yoo-Jeong had asked me.

Everyone wanted to be recognized by others; it was a natural human feeling. Like others, Ee-Na desired to be able to help others.

Before I answered, I asked her a question first. “Can you tell me the reason behind your question?”

“…I mean, you are strong, but I’m just a B-rated Hunter. Do you still need me?”

That was exactly what I had heard from Yoo-Jeong. I chuckled quietly.

“How much do you think you can grow?”

“Me? I suppose I can reach A-rated…”

I shook my head. As far as I knew, she would be far stronger than that.

“I think you can be much stronger. If you use your ability well, you can eventually kill an SS-rated Hunter.”

Ee-Na and Gi-Hoon both looked surprised.

I had told her before that she will grow to be as strong as Hong Jong-Geun. I personally thought that she could get even further than that.

I leaned back on my chair and answered her question.

“I haven’t done much for my brother.”

“…….”

“He’s fighting alone. I don’t think there’s someone he can really rely on.”

My standards are high. From my point of view, his staff members, Cheon-Myeong’s secretary team members, are useless. When I heard that they were called the elite team in Cheon-Myeong, I was shocked.

“Like I mentioned yesterday, I want to create a small, elite group.”

“…You did.”

“As far as I can see, only three people have the potential of being stronger, and all three of those Hunters couldn’t awaken their true potential.”

“…”

“You don’t understand what ability you have. You guys were just relying on the system and wasting your potential.”

“…Is that the same thing you were saying in the training room?

“Yes.”

Those were my honest thoughts.

I looked at Gi-Hoon. He also had a problem to fix.

Usually, in Valhalla, someone who is as strong as an S-rated Hunter could use their abilities without needing to cast a spell, but all the Hunters here had to say the trigger words to activate their abilities.

That was why Lee Ho was such an excellent Hunter. Unlike others, he didn’t need to pronounce the spells to cast his skills. He had trained himself to do that. He tried to understand the fundamental nature of aura and opened his own path. That was why he was now an SS-rated Hunter and was still becoming stronger.

However, he needed someone to help him.

“I can tell you one thing. If you come with me, you’ll gain more than you’ll lose.”

“…”

“I can do a lot that no one else can offer if you just learn and become stronger. I’ll ask only one thing for you to do.”

“You’re going to ask me to do something?”

I smiled softly, and there was no need to say more. There was a moment of silence before Ee-Na vowed, “I will do my best, master.”

“It’s quite awkward to hear you say that. Just address me as usual.”

As I waved my hand, Ee-Na and Gi-Hoon smiled.

“Oh, and I almost forgot, will you go to the SS-rated gate with me?”

“…I think I’ll just be a burden.”

I shook my head.

“Think of it as a vacation. It’s just something like that.”

“…I’m wondering how it could be a vacation, but I’ll trust you.”

I chuckled, and so did Jeong Gi-Hoon behind me.

“Just keep one thing in mind. If you stay within twenty meters of me, whatever happens, I can protect you. So don’t worry.”

I could guarantee her that. Mr. Han was an exception; he had been too far away for me to do anything. But if Ee-Na was within my range, I could protect her. That much was certain.

“Then pack up. We’ll be staying for more than a day.”

With this, Yoo Ee-Na nodded and left. I also relayed this information to So-Eun and Yoo-Jeong.

Things were then settled. Ee-Na, So-Eun, Yoo-Jeong, Gi-Hoon, and I were going to the UK.

Gi-Hoon left me in the office to do something. Unlike me, he was still a staff member of ROKHA, so he had to do some work with documents. In fact, he had left to prepare a passport for me.

As I sat back in my chair, I thought of the other members of ROKHA. They were responsible people, but they didn’t like the adventure. All of them wanted a safe, stabilized position. That was why no one else volunteered to go to the SS-rated gate with us.

It was understandable. It was an SS-rated gate, and the break would definitely occur soon. But even the F-rated Hunter So-Eun was going to do the job. Despite her weak power, she chose to come with me without any hesitation.

Meanwhile, the others didn’t bother showing up. To be honest, I was quite disappointed in them, especially with Yoon Jeong-Soo, since he had the power to make a different choice.

I had liked him, but not anymore.

At the moment, all gates were not to be entered. That meant that they didn’t have any jobs to do these days. In short, they just wanted to take a rest and get their salaries from the authorities.

That was enough for me. I decided they weren’t worthy of being taken care of.

Soon, Gi-Hoon returned.

“We’re all set. Let’s go.”

I nodded.

We were heading to London. Sophie had made a flight appointment for us.

***

The flight was going well. The plane they were using was for England’s royal family, and they were being treated as such, so it was going really well. But Sophie was concerned, and she was trying to hide her astonishment.

She had expected that Lee Hwan and Jeong Gi-Hoon were not the only ones who were coming with her. Lee Hwan was Ho’s brother, and Gi-Hoon was the ace of Cheon-Myeong’s secretary team. She knew some other team members would be joining, but this was not what she expected.

He had brought members of ROKHA, three of them, to be exact. They were Ee-Na, Yoo-Jeong, and So-Eun. So-Eun was known to be a new unique skill holder.

At first, Sophie was concerned. That was a natural response. To be able to enter an S-rated dungeon, a Hunter should be A-rated at minimum. But they were entering an SS-rated gate. To be honest, all three of his companions seemed like they would be a burden.

Yoo-Jeong was a D-rated Hunter with low physical ability. Ee-Na was a B-rated Hunter that was still not powerful enough for the SS-rated gate. And So-Eun, in fact, just became a Hunter.

That was why Sophie had been concerned, but when she used her ability on them, what she saw was shocking.

[ Kim Yoo-Jeong ]

[ CA 1284 (PA 4,000,000) ]

CA stod for Current Ability. Right now, her stats were low, but her PA, which meant Potential Ability, was incredibly high.

Four million. That was the equivalent to the power of the highest S-rated Hunters.

The woman seated beside her, Yoo Ee-Na, was much more surprising.

[ Yoo Ee-Na ]

[ CA 25,000 (PA 9,500,000) ]

At this point, she could not hide her astonishment. A number beyond five million was considered an SS-rated Hunter, but Ee-Na’s PA number was about twice as much as the standard. The potential she had was simply outstanding.

Last but definitely not least, Kim So-Eun was way beyond the two.

[ So-Eun Kim ]

[ CA 2 (PA ?0,?0?,???) ]

It was like the number she had gotten when she tried her ability on Hwan. The system could not measure this girl’s potential power. That was already a huge shock to her.

Her power must be over ten million. Lee Ho’s number was twenty million when they had met before. That was back when she still hasn’t awakened the ability to measure potential power, but this girl’s result was astonishing.

All of them were in ROKHA? Was this a coincidence?

This was so unnatural. Two of the three people had the potential of being an SS-rated, or even higher, Hunter. This was like an improbable scene from a movie.

She then looked over at Gi-Hoon and finally understood.

[ Jung Gi-Hoon ]

[ CA 246,644 (PA 6,500,000) ]

His potential had increased about six times more than the last time they had seen each other.

Was this a coincidence? But it was impossible for a person’s potential to change like this in just one day.

The answer was so simple. Lee Hwan had intervened. That was the most probable hypothesis. In fact, she had no other assumptions.

The three Hunters must have had lower values like Gi-Hoon had before, but because of Lee Hwan, their potential was amplified.

Sophie looked around the plane, and when her eyes met with Hwan’s, she immediately turned away.

“Why do you look so surprised?”

“Oh, sorry.”

This man was certainly mysterious, Sophie murmured.
